The hollow floral pattern is the soul of the Woven Rush Storage Tray. It allows the stored items and the rustic texture of the woven rush to harmonize beautifully under the sunlight.
You'll love its practicality when filled with items, and its enchanting appearance when filled with light and shadow.
| Using Rush Products
Please maintain the original shape of the product and avoid squeezing it, to prevent breakage of the rush stems due to excessive force.
Keep the product in a dry environment. Rush has high moisture absorbency; long-term dampness can cause mold. During the rainy season, place rush products in a space with a dehumidifier.
You can let rush products bask in the sun daily. Exposure to sunlight will enhance their distinctive dried rush aroma.
| Cleaning Rush Products
Gently wipe with a clean, damp cloth. Do not soak, as this can cause the product to deform.
Damp rush products can be air-dried in the sun, dried with a hairdryer, or placed in a space with a dehumidifier to keep them dry.
A little extra care will ensure your rush products last for a long time.

**|| A Heritage of Three Generations of Rush Aroma, A Tradition of Three Generations of Weaving ||**
"Si Cyuan" is a natural rush handicraft weaving store in Dajia, Taichung. In 1947, grandfather Guo Xi-quan founded it with products woven from Taiwanese rush. After the third generation joined, they adopted his name for the store, carrying on his passion for weaving.
At Si Cyuan, you'll find the third-generation weaver and her mother, along with indispensable help from grandmothers and aunts who deeply love weaving. Together, they preserve traditional culture and develop innovative designs.
The third generation of Si Cyuan weaves the rich culture of their hometown, continuing authentic craftsmanship. The simple, natural feel is a gift from nature and an expression of affection for home. With the intention of creating items for their own family, they use traditional techniques to craft everyday wear like straw hats and bags, as well as home goods like woven slippers.

And, of course, a unique natural grassy fragrance~
Native to central Taiwan, Taiwanese rush possesses a captivating natural grassy scent.
Early on, rush was primarily used for weaving sleeping mats, hence its nickname "mat grass." It is highly absorbent, breathable, and smooth against the skin, offering a cool sensation upon touch. With continued use, it develops a richer luster over time, embodying the essence of natural fiber in daily life.
Taiwan boasts a rush weaving culture spanning nearly three hundred years. Each item is meticulously handcrafted by local grandmothers and aunts, imbued with the spirit of Taiwan.
**|| Rush Weaving Process ||**
Growth | 3-4 months of growth
Sun-drying | After harvesting, sun-dried for approximately 2-4 months until completely dry
Grass Sorting | Categorized by length, with some tips removed
Grass Selection | Stalks of uniform thickness are chosen before weaving
Root Pulling | Leaves from the undeveloped root end are removed
Grass Beating | The structure of the grass is broken down to make it softer and easier to weave
For more intricate items, two additional steps are performed: "Grass Splitting" (dividing the triangular rush stalks into two to three finer strands) and "Grass Kneading" (rubbing to remove the white fibers within the rush).
**|| A Little Story About Taiwanese Rush ||**
Grandmothers and mothers used to tell stories about how people would nurture their rush.
They loved the "black and gold" patina that rush developed.
This color transformation usually occurred naturally with use over time.
However, some people would accelerate this process by wiping the rush with tea water,
to deepen its color.
