|░ Reasons to Love Jadeite ░|
"One cultivates jade for three years, and jade nourishes one for a lifetime."
Crystals possess a powerful energy field but require regular cleansing. Jadeite, a natural hard jade, has a gentle and mild nature. While its energy field may not be as strong as crystals, jadeite's inherent energy is exceptionally pure and clean, offering only beneficial influences and dispelling negative energy.
Currently, over 40 minerals have been identified in jadeite. Its chemical composition is sodium aluminum silicate—NaAI[Si2 O6], often containing trace elements such as calcium (Ca), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), manganese (Mn), magnesium (Mg), and iron (Fe).
White: Generally contains no impurities.
Red: Contains trivalent iron [2].
Black: Contains over 2% chromium.
Green: Contains over 2% chromium and divalent iron.
Yellow: Contains iron.
Purple: Contains manganese.
Blue: Similar to green but rarer.
Trace element "calcium" (Ca) is the most abundant mineral in the human body, primarily distributed in bones and teeth, with presence also in blood and muscles. Calcium is a vital regulator of bodily life activities, playing crucial physiological roles throughout all life stages, from youth to adulthood and old age. Calcium is an indispensable macronutrient for human health and longevity.
Trace element "chromium" (Cr) is significantly important for maintaining normal physiological functions, preventing cardiovascular diseases, and aiding blood sugar regulation. The human body cannot synthesize it independently, requiring absorption through natural foods or supplements. For individuals with Type 2 diabetes, chromium can increase insulin sensitivity. For those who are overweight, it aids in controlling cholesterol and blood sugar. Chromium is lost at a faster rate in individuals experiencing high stress, making it particularly important for these three groups.
Trace element "nickel" (Ni) is an essential trace element for the human body. Adults typically contain 6-10 mg of nickel, primarily in the brain and liver. Nickel is absorbed in the human intestines, with unabsorbed nickel largely excreted through feces. Only 10-20% of nickel from food is absorbed by the body.
Trace element "manganese" (Mn) is another type of trace element that protects the body. Jadeite also contains this element. Long-term wear of jadeite can promote blood circulation, accelerate metabolism, alleviate aging, and prevent certain age-related diseases.
Trace element "magnesium" (Mg) is also an essential macronutrient for the human body. Like calcium, magnesium is a necessary nutrient for normal bone growth. Sufficient magnesium effectively regulates calcium and maintains normal neuromuscular function, with both elements acting synergistically. Magnesium can inhibit platelet aggregation, so a deficiency may increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Furthermore, magnesium deficiency can increase chronic inflammation and is associated with the onset of many chronic diseases, particularly cardiovascular mortality. Studies have shown that individuals who drink hard water, relatively high in calcium and magnesium, have lower mortality rates from cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, maintaining normal blood magnesium levels lowers the risk of atherosclerosis.
Trace element "iron" (Fe) assists enzymes in biochemical reactions and metabolism, making it one of the "essential trace elements." Adult bodies typically contain 3-5 grams of iron, with 60-70% distributed in red blood cells. Other cells also require iron to function smoothly.
Medical research reveals the potent therapeutic capabilities of jadeite. Long-term wear not only helps prevent illnesses but can also alleviate or even treat certain conditions.
Treating Chest Tightness: Some individuals with weaker constitutions may experience chest tightness. Wearing a jadeite pendant can help alleviate this common symptom. The jadeite pendant emits energy into the "Longhan" and "Shenfu" acupoints on the chest, and through continuous massage, it can achieve a lasting effect.
Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory: In TCM, jadeite is believed to "clear middle-level heat, moisten the heart and lungs, nourish hair, fortify the five viscera, calm the spirit and soul, improve blood circulation, and enhance sight and hearing."
Regularly wearing jadeite jewelry allows its trace elements to be absorbed by the skin, aiding in the coordinated balance of physiological functions of the body's organs.
Nourishing the Skin: Jadeite jewelry, whether necklaces, earrings, or bracelets, comes into direct contact with the skin. The mineral elements within the jadeite enter the body, nourishing the skin and making one appear fairer and more radiant.
Cooling Down: Jadeite's inherent coolness offers a therapeutic and soothing sensation, providing relief from heat. In the Tang Dynasty, Consort Yang would place jade in her mouth during summer to cool down. Since then, summers became more refreshing. Jade pillows, bracelets, beds, and pendants were used to combat the summer heat.
The above are evidence-based reasons for appreciating jadeite. Another, less tangible reason is that when feeling down or stressed, gazing at jadeite can provide an inexplicable sense of emotional healing and comfort.
