AN EPITAPH FOR A HUMBLE ABODE
Mountains need not be high; they are famous if immortals reside. Waters need not be deep; they are spiritual if dragons dwell.
This is a humble abode, yet my virtue lends it grace. Moss traces climb the steps, green; the grass's hue enters the curtains, blue.
Conversations are with learned scholars; among my visitors, none are unlettered. I can strum a plain zither, or peruse the golden sutras.
No string or pipe music disturbs my ears; no official documents burden my form. It resembles Zhuge Liang's thatched hut in Nanyang, or Ziyun's pavilion in Western Shu.
Confucius once said, "What is there to dislike?"
YELLOW DRAGON MOUNTAIN ZHU NI "BIG RED ROBE"
From the Zhu Ni raw ore, we meticulously select superior clay with a fine texture, uniform particles, pure color, and moderate iron content.
Firing temperature: 1166°C, Shrinkage: 28%
When Zhu Ni is mentioned, one immediately thinks of (Xiao Mei Yao Zhu Ni, Zhao Zhuang Zhu Ni).
In reality, there is another type of Zhu Ni from Yellow Dragon Mountain, which has a relatively smaller ore yield and a more pronounced sandy texture.
Its characteristic is that the longer it is used and nurtured, the richer and more distinct the surface texture becomes, akin to the jade-like patina effect of Ben Shan Green Clay.
The flavor transformation of the tea infusion is also distinct from the Zhu Ni of the other two regions.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. How to prepare the pot before first use?
Clean the inside and outside thoroughly. A dishcloth is recommended; do not use chemical agents. Simply rinse with water, and it's ready for use.
2. How to nurture the pot?
After each use, keep it clean and dry to prevent tea stains. Place it in a well-ventilated area after use. If storing it in its box for a long period, allow it to air dry naturally for 1-2 months to ensure sufficient evaporation of moisture from the pores, otherwise, it may mold.
3. How to clean tea stains or mold?
Soak with an enzyme cleaner.
4. How to properly warm the pot?
When the weather is cold, or if the pot has not been used for a long time, pour 40°C warm water over the inside and outside of the pot, then fill the pot. This allows the purple clay pores to fully absorb moisture.
5. How to care for pieces with engravings?
For pots with engraved designs, we recommend cleaning with a soft brush.
