This is a leather book cover for paperback sizes that opens with a unique hinge mechanism. No metal hardware is used; it is crafted entirely from leather and thread. It can also be used as a cover for A6-sized planners, such as the Hobonichi Techo. The striking leather hinge is a result of our independently researched crafting method. After intricate cutting and shaping, each tooth is meticulously filed to ensure a precise interlocking fit. While possessing a distinctive appearance, it evokes an antique atmosphere reminiscent of old books. The material is a thick, natural-tanned leather (2mm thick), a vegetable-tanned cowhide celebrated for its exceptional aging potential. The lustrous grain is a hallmark of aniline-dyed leather. This is a premium cowhide, tanned using a 20-step process passed down since the company's founding in 1937, utilizing vegetable tannins extracted from mimosa bark, without the use of harmful chemicals.
