Opals with a play-of-color effect, which shimmers with different colors depending on the viewing angle, are called precious opals, while those without a sparkle are called common opals. Opals also vary in color depending on their origin, each offering its own unique charm. While opals are not particularly resistant to direct sunlight or other UV rays, they are not particularly suitable for wearing, but they should be stored away from UV rays. "10K Gold" In Japan, this material is known as 10K gold. It is an alloy of gold and other metals, with a ratio of approximately 42% gold and 58% other metals such as silver and copper (18K gold is 75% gold and 25% other metals). While 18k gold is more popular in Japan, its whitish hue complements Japanese skin tones and allows for casual wear. Due to the recent rise in the gold price, 18k gold has become a popular alternative to 18k gold for gold jewelry, establishing itself as a gold suitable for casual wear. Compared to 18k gold, 18k gold contains a higher proportion of other metals, making it more prone to discoloration. However, with occasional polishing and other care, it's not a big deal. While it's difficult to say for sure whether it's safe for people with metal allergies, its higher proportion of other metals compared to 18k gold may cause allergic reactions in some individuals.
