Onion Peterman Xiangche Street Market-Illustrated Book

Nanfeng Spinning Mill invited local artist Onion Peterman to create a series of works to present the local appearance of Xiangche Street Market in Tsuen Wan. Onion Peterman is one of the few screen printing artists in Hong Kong who specializes in presenting rich cultural styles with colors. Xiangche Street Market and Cooked Food Center in Tsuen Wan is one of the earliest public facilities in the area to meet the needs of the population as the area develops and the population grows rapidly. Xiangche Street Market is a single-building and three-story semi-open platform design. Most of the building structure and space design have not changed much since its opening. It is one of the few old public markets in Hong Kong that is still operating. Onion Peterman recorded the scenery of the people in Xiangche Street Market in a colorful work style, and gave everyone a visual market tour experience. In addition to being able to see and eat, the strong community sentiments in Xiangche Street Market can be taken away. Taking the Tsuen Wan Xiangche Street Market and the Cooked Food Center as the creation objects, Onion Peterman personally designed the illustration book with the theme of this exhibition, paintings showing the spatial layout of the market and different cultural landscapes, allowing the audience to hold the downtown architecture and character scenery in their hands , Savor everyday.
