Thank you for your interest. ☺︎ This is a book cover for Japanese Bunkobon paperbacks, crafted from the split leather of British bridle leather. ■ Material We use the split leather from bridle leather produced by Thomas Ware & Sons, a renowned tannery established in Bristol, UK, in 1840, boasting over 170 years of history. Bridle leather was originally made for horse tack due to its exceptional robustness. It achieves its strength and durability through the impregnation of waxes such as beeswax, tallow, and vegetable oils. The white powder on the leather's surface is a sign of this wax content, known as "Bloom," and is a hallmark of bridle leather. This bloom naturally diminishes with use but can be brushed away or wiped with a dry cloth if preferred. The texture of the leather is firm yet supple, a characteristic of sturdy bridle leather. We hope you will enjoy the process as it gradually conforms to your touch. For the hand-stitching thread, we use 100% natural linen waxed thread from the Taiwanese brand "Rikka." Rikka's threads meet the non-toxic and non-fading requirements of physical and chemical tests conducted by SGS, one of the world's largest testing institutions, ensuring high quality. ■ Color Wine ■ Size When unfolded: Height: 167mm × Width: 250mm Suitable for Bunkobon paperbacks up to approximately 25mm thick.
