Maintenance is minimal — just gently wipe off any dirt if necessary. No polishing required. Each design is crafted from a single wire, shaped like a continuous line drawing with no joints. This creates a seamless and beautiful form. All pieces are handcrafted by twisting wire with only the fingertips, one by one. The total weight for both earrings is just 3 grams — so light you may forget you’re even wearing them. To address the common issue of tangled chains, a snake chain has been used, significantly reducing tangling. The chain is made of K16GP, a material gentle on those with metal allergies. It’s no exaggeration to say that it helped change my life. I, too, have been at rock bottom — but it was from that place that I discovered this work, which transformed my path. Ao-Shigure is something I want to continue making and cherish forever. The wire used is K14GF, at 0.3mm in diameter. Every twist, angle, and amount of force applied is done uniformly by hand, using only the fingertips. The bead at the tip is a clear, 1mm glass bead made by MIYUKI — a company from Hiroshima that is globally renowned for its quality. The piece comes in a handmade paulownia (kiri) wooden box crafted by a skilled artisan. Inside, the cloth-lined interior gently holds the Ao-Shigure like a treasured daughter before her wedding day. We even had a custom branding iron made for the “Kazuki Edo” original font to mark the box. Perhaps the refined presentation brings out an even greater elegance in the piece.
