Susan initially designed ceramic gifts for their village, Portmeirion, at her father's request. As these gifts gained popularity, she acquired the pottery companies and factories, allowing her to design the shapes and patterns herself. The 1970s saw the birth of Susan's most iconic and beloved collection – the Botanic Garden series. Inspired by antique botanical illustrations, the unique and exquisite floral designs of Botanic Garden offered a departure from formal dinnerware, introducing a relaxed, home-style aesthetic that was met with worldwide acclaim.
