Therefore, __regularly purifying your crystals is essential__. It's recommended to establish a habit of purifying crystals periodically, for instance, on the 1st of each month or during the full moon (the 15th day of the lunar calendar). There are many methods for purifying crystals, with detailed explanations available in books and online. While soaking in saltwater is often mentioned, Joyce personally advises against it, as some crystals and metals are delicate and can be damaged by salt or water. If you have clear or amethyst chip stones, or a crystal geode or cluster, you can simply place your crystals on or within them when not wearing them. Of course, these purifying chip stones, geodes, and clusters also require periodic purification, such as through sun exposure or moonlight exposure. Joyce finds __smudging purification__ to be the most effective! You can light palo santo, dried cedar leaves, dried sage leaves, or incense sticks, and __use the smoke for purification__.
