This tetsubin is handmade by the foundry craftsman washu konno.
The entire manufacturing process is made by a foundry craftsman.
The pine needle patterns are stamped on the entire surface by the artist's hand.
The picking of the lid is designed with pine cones.
It is carefully finished by the traditional technique (baking method).
Since it is made thin, it is lightweight, compact and easy to handle.
The inside is not enamel processed.
The boiling water will be mellow.
Nanbu ironware is baked using the traditional technique called kama-yaki to produce an oxide layer on the surface.
It leads to "rust resistance" and "water quality improvement" and makes tea and coffee taste better.
The water boiled in Nanbu iron kettle tastes mellow and sweet even when drunk straight.
This is due to the effect of iron leaching into the hot water, but in order for the iron to leach out, the inside cannot be enameled or otherwise treated, and rust is liable to occur.
