A one-of-a-kind beauty that brings you happiness.
The materials for this work are selected from thousands of kimono fabrics, kept tucked away in chests, featuring auspicious patterns. Each piece is meticulously crafted by hand with wishes for the happiness of the person who holds it.
A Japanese Gift
Utilizing kimono fabrics stored in chests, we create products that embody the beauty and charm held within small pieces of cloth, honoring the saying from our local Futaba Town, Miyagi Prefecture, by elderly women: "Don't discard cloth that can wrap three adzuki beans." These are also well-received as gifts to accompany small tokens of appreciation or greetings.
An Item that Adds Radiance to Your Back
These hair ornaments blend seamlessly not only with kimonos and yukatas but with any attire. They allow the wearer to express their individuality. Beyond being retro-modern hair accessories, they can also be used as armbands or book bands. It's convenient to have one in your bag.
A Symbol of Happiness: Auspicious Patterns
Auspicious patterns, used as "symbols of happiness" for their good fortune, offer a glimpse into the profound depth of Japanese culture passed down through generations when one understands their meanings.
<Chrysanthemum Pattern> "Longevity," "Wish for Rejuvenation," "Wish for Good Health"
Chrysanthemums were believed to possess anti-aging properties and were used medicinally. They are considered an auspicious flower, the king of a hundred herbs, symbolizing longevity.
The Joy of Gazing, The Pleasure of Collecting
The kimono fabrics adorned with auspicious patterns, which delight the eyes, are items that bring about an image of happiness simply by gazing at them. By collecting your favorite pieces, you can enjoy creating your own personal gallery.

<Let's Contribute to Clothing Upcycling Together>
At WATALIS, we have collected and remade over 12 tons of old kimono fabrics to date.
By picking up our creations, kimono fabrics that had been sleeping in chests across the country are given a new purpose. We are grateful for the customers who help us expand the circle of upcycling together.
We introduce our regional resource upcycling initiatives in this video.

<Notes on Purchase>
*As all items are handmade, please understand that each piece is unique, with slight variations in size, shape, and pattern.
*Very rarely, if we obtain high-quality kimono fabric, we may produce multiple items from the same fabric. Please understand that the pattern placement may differ slightly from the photo due to the cutting position of the fabric.
*Please understand that the color and texture may appear different from the actual product on your screen. If you have any concerns, please contact us or refrain from purchasing.
*As the kimono fabrics used as materials are often used and their components are not always specified, we may not be able to identify the exact materials. Furthermore, we thoroughly inspect and process the fabrics, including washing, before remaking them. Please handle with care as some fabrics may fade or shrink when wet.
*As we also sell on other sites, please forgive us if the item is out of stock.
