**◢ A Sober Reflection ◣**
The Year of the Tiger 2022 is fast approaching.
The global pandemic has slowed our pace, prompting us to reflect on the intricate and interdependent relationship between human development, humanity, and nature.
Leopard cats in Taiwan are now classified as endangered, with fewer than 2,000 individuals remaining. Their numbers have dwindled due to extensive habitat development, hunting, and the illegal wildlife trade. Today, stable populations are found only in the regions of Miaoli, Taichung, Changhua, and Nantou.
After stumbling upon news of initiatives to mitigate human-leopard cat conflicts, particularly concerning chicken coops, we decided to launch this couplet sale and donation campaign.
The full proceeds from the sale of our Leopard Cat couplets, after deducting transaction fees, will be donated to the Taiwan Wildlife Conservation Association for Leopard Cat Conservation. As the Year of the Tiger begins, we hope to contribute, in our own small way, to raising awareness about the importance of leopard cat and natural ecological conservation.
