Dapeng Bay (DAPENG BAY): 3952 Old Goat - Named after a famous Taiwanese scenic spot, this is a special edition for grand writing. Selected golden camphor burl wood, naturally turned wood, specially crafted with a dazzling, high-definition, high-gloss surface treatment. The high-definition, high-gloss finish involves repeatedly applying clear lacquer and polishing until the pores formed by the natural wood grain over time are filled. This process requires dozens of repeated applications and polishing. The high-definition, high-gloss technique results in a smoother surface, providing a better tactile feel when writing, and making the exquisite wood grain appear more three-dimensional and distinct. It also makes the surface easier to maintain, protecting the wooden pen body from accidental ink stains. However, this technique incurs a higher cost. Both the high-definition, high-gloss and standard finishes have their own unique charm, catering to different tastes. Old Goat Pens sincerely presents this collection, thanking you for your support. The high-definition, high-gloss finish offers a luster similar to the wood trim inside a luxury car, so reflective it can be used as a mirror, with a particularly substantial feel. Most pens on the market are simply polished or waxed after turning; such meticulous treatment is rarely seen. (Natural grain, high-quality item shipped at random). The pen is complemented by accessories made of original brass, electroplated in grey chrome. It features a rotating, airtight cap and a specially designed flexible clip.
The nib is a German Bock #250 (#6) two-tone steel nib, expertly hand-crafted by Old Goat artisans into a calligraphy nib capable of producing distinct thick and thin lines, offering a sense of feedback and allowing for nuanced strokes in Chinese characters, showcasing your unique taste.
**Gift Set Includes: German SCHMIDT K2 Converter (ink not included) + One handmade black genuine leather pen case by a Taiwanese master craftsman (style shipped at random) + 3952 Old Goat wooden pen box packaging.**
Pen Dimensions: Total length approximately 150mm, body and grip section approximately 105mm, maximum diameter approximately 14.5mm (excluding clip), total weight approximately 52g (excluding nib).
Hand-ground and adjusted calligraphy nib:
1. For the calligraphy nib, it is recommended to first dip the nib in ink for writing (do not remove the converter installed in the pen barrel; this prevents ink from flowing back into the pen body after writing). After a period of use, you can then use the converter for inking.
2. The calligraphy nib is an EF nib that has been ground and adjusted to have a curved tip. The variation in line width is not solely dependent on pressure, but rather on the angle of the pen. The curve of the nib tip is utilized to create different line widths. When holding the pen at a more upright angle, the contact area between the nib and the paper is smaller, resulting in a finer line. As the pen is held at a more oblique angle or with slight pressure, the contact area between the nib and the paper increases, producing a thicker line. The ability to write thick or thin lines depends on your proficiency (each nib has a certain degree of pressure it can withstand; avoid excessive force to prevent damage or misalignment of the nib. It is recommended to use a writing mat under the paper when writing).
In response to environmental protection, we do not proactively provide paper bags. If you require one for gift-giving, please inform us in the order notes after placing your order. Thank you.
Images are for reference only. The product is a single pen. Some photos may have slight color differences due to lighting and angles; the actual product prevails.
Note: Regularly wipe and maintain the inside of the pen body and cap. When storing the pen, please do not leave the nib facing downwards for extended periods.
Warm Reminder: When writing, do not press the nib excessively or write with the nib skewed to the left or right (for a right-handed writer, it is recommended to hold the pen so the nib points towards the 10 or 11 o'clock position). This prevents accidental displacement of the iridium tip, which can cause scratching and ink flow issues. The nib should be rinsed with clean water regularly to prevent ink buildup and blockage, which can affect writing quality.
