A warm and cozy rice bowl with a matte white glaze

This coarse red clay allows you to enjoy the rough texture and warmth that is unique to ceramic clay. A matte white glaze with a slightly off-white, warm hue and texture, and a glaze made from a red ingredient called benigara. By combining these materials, we created a rice bowl that allows you to enjoy three stages of color change, from white to deep brown. By using rough clay, the texture of the clay can be felt, giving the vessel a warm, ceramic-like impression. It has a plump, round shape but the base is slightly small, giving it a neat appearance. It is also deep enough to hold moist rice dishes such as rice with raw egg on top and rice porridge. The rustic texture and atmosphere goes well with crops grown in the soil, and makes white rice, multigrain rice, and cooked rice look delicious. I use a small electric kiln and an electric potter's wheel at home to make my pottery, and all processes, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are done by hand. The slightly rounded shape, rough texture, and slight weight give it a ceramic feel. Although we cannot mass-produce them, each one has its own unique expression, allowing you to enjoy the flavor that comes from being made by hand. The surface that will come into contact with the table will be sanded before delivery. Using various glazes and clays, I create a wide variety of pottery in different colors and shapes, searching for the best combinations.
