It symbolizes protection, safety, and guidance. The design radiates outward from a central circle like rays of the sun, illuminating the sea route and guiding those who venture out to return home safely. We live in this world like a canoe drifting across the vast ocean – boundless and infinite. Today, as fewer young people build boats, many choose to tattoo the boat eye on their bodies or wear it around their necks as a reminder not to lose their way in life. ｜About this piece｜ This boat eye necklace is made from Japanese white porcelain and fired using the wood-firing technique without any glaze. During firing, natural firewood ash falls onto the pure white porcelain surface, leaving delicate marks and textures. At temperatures exceeding 1,200°C, the ash melts slightly, creating unique fire traces and ash patterns. The final piece is warm and smooth to the touch, with a luster reminiscent of pearls from the sea. ｜Cord options｜ Waxed leather cord: Suitable if you don’t plan to wear it underwater or under strong sunlight for long periods. Frequent exposure to water may cause fraying, fading, or absorption of body scent over time, but it will not affect its strength. If needed, you can send it back for a free replacement or have it changed in person when we meet. If you don’t mind these characteristics, this cord is a good choice.
