Chopstick rests made from colored clay

This simple chopstick rest is made by kneading three colors of colored clay, which is made by mixing pigments into white clay that has the rough texture typical of ceramic clay. When colored clay is mixed well, a marble-like pattern is created, but these chopstick rests were intentionally mixed roughly with minimal effort, with the aim of making the distinctions between colors clear. The random patterns that appear are interesting, and each one has a different expression. I thought they were too simple as they were, so I applied a floral print to each piece and finished them off with a transparent glaze for a lustrous look. I have an electric pottery furnace at home, and all processes, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and firing, are done by hand.
