[Carved as if conversing with the wood]
Zelkova wood, I believe, is a material that truly "speaks" among all woods.
Its grain is strong, its colors are rich, and above all, it possesses a certain weight.
When you hold this tray, many people will let out a soft "oh."
That's how substantial the feeling is that remains in your hand.
The zelkova used this time is a local material, grown in the mountains of Gunma Prefecture.
We selected dense, sturdy wood and meticulously carved each piece into a tray.
Three fine grooves are carved into the surface.
Their purpose is not fixed.
You can place anything on it, from cutlery and stationery to tools and accessories.
However, with just these three grooves, the act of "placing" gains a small measure of order and space.
Practical, yet possessing a touch of elegance.
The commanding presence of zelkova and the reassuring feel of solid wood.
And the gentle touch of the oil finish that you feel each time you use it.
We feel this strikes the right balance for an everyday tool.
On the back, we've branded our mark, "Watarase Woodcraft." This, too, is carefully burned by hand as proof of our craftsmanship.
*Pens and watches shown in the image are sold separately.*
