Kiriko glass made by independent Kiriko glass artist Saito Hikaru.
We learned the secret techniques of hand polishing at an Edo Kiriko workshop that was founded over 100 years ago, and even though we consider the productivity and profitability of the technique low, we value the tradition and want to deliver authentic Kiriko to our users, so we also value the technique of hand polishing.

The flat openwork chrysanthemum-shaped shot glass is designed to allow you to enjoy the color of your beverage.
Whiskey and tequila
- Color differences due to materials such as oak barrels and sherry barrels
-Differences in aging periods for reposado, añejo, etc.
I think the design allows you to fully enjoy the colors of the barrel-aged wine.
The flat openwork chrysanthemum connection design itself was originally conceived when making rocks glasses, so we redesigned and cut it to the size of a shot glass.
In other designs I had tried using cuts to let the color show through, but this looked a bit like a mosaic when viewed from above the cuts, so I felt that I needed to develop a rocks glass that would allow people to truly enjoy the color of the alcohol, and that's how this design was born.
How to make it completely clear, without pixelated edges
- Rub the side of the glass with a flat surface
・Scrape the sides in a circular motion with a curved blade
I thought there were only two ways:
After examining and comparing the advantages and disadvantages of the two methods, we decided to use a flat blade to scrape the bottom of the glass extensively.
To prevent the design from becoming too original, the traditional chrysanthemum motif is carved all the way around the top and tightened with a ring to create a traditional Kiriko look.
Also, rather than cutting it into a complete band, we made the intersections of the chrysanthemum connections extend slightly into the valleys of the flat openwork to create a sense of unity.
Because the colored areas are almost entirely clear, the labor required is significantly more than with other products.
The price is relatively high, but I think it's worth it.
The chrysanthemums in the chrysanthemum chain are considered to be extremely auspicious, representing longevity, good health, warding off evil spirits, nobility, and integrity.
All of the pieces featuring the chrysanthemum connection exude a sense of luxury.
The chrysanthemum connection is a cut that requires a sense of style and cannot be achieved through effort alone.
This pattern is extremely difficult to cut, and only an experienced Edo Kiriko craftsman can cut it, so this is proof of that.
We hope you will consider purchasing this for yourself, as a gift, or for a special occasion.
