■ About the Designer: CHAMILGARDEN Driven by a pure passion for stamp carving, CHAMILGARDEN is a stamp artisan who meticulously crafts stamps daily and also teaches stamp carving workshops. Based in Taiwan, they currently reside in a charming old apartment in Taipei, dedicating their days to the art of stamp creation. Previously an editor for magazines and books, they now focus exclusively on stamp design. Each season, they release handmade original stamps. Their collected works, volumes 1 to 8, feature over 100 unique stamps. They are also the author of several books, including "Handmade Life in 12 Hours a Week," "Rubber Stamps: Open the Door," and "12 Lessons for Beginner Rubber Stampers: Next Stamp Class." Primarily using erasers as their carving medium, each stamp is painstakingly carved stroke by stroke. Their designs are often inspired by everyday observations, scenic memories from travels, and cherished interests (incorporating elements like text, flora, geometry, nature, and architecture). Through deconstruction and recombination, intricate layering of lines and planes, minimalist primary and secondary lines, foreign text, and personal symbols, they compose the visual narrative of each stamp. They enjoy pairing stamps and colors, creating unique standalone pieces or collaborative arrangements, and exploring repetition.
