|░ Reasons to Love Jadeite ░|
"One cultivates jade for three years, and jade nourishes one for a lifetime."
Crystals possess a powerful energy field but require regular cleansing. Jadeite, a natural hard jade, is known for its gentle and soothing properties. While its energy field may not be as strong as crystals, jadeite's inherent energy is exceptionally pure and clean, offering only beneficial influences and dispelling negative energy.
Currently, over 40 minerals have been identified within jadeite. Its chemical composition is sodium aluminum silicate—NaAI〔Si2 O6〕, often containing trace elements such as Calcium (Ca), Chromium (Cr), Nickel (Ni), Manganese (Mn), Magnesium (Mg), and Iron (Fe).
White: Essentially free of impurities.
Red: Contains trivalent iron.[2]
Black: Contains more than 2% chromium.
Green: Contains more than 2% chromium and divalent iron.
Yellow: Contains elemental iron.
Purple: Contains elemental manganese.
Blue: Similar to green, but rarer.
Trace element "Calcium" (Ca) is the most abundant mineral in the human body, primarily distributed in bones and teeth, with presence also in blood and muscles. Calcium is a crucial regulator of bodily life activities, fulfilling vital physiological functions throughout all growth stages, from infancy to adulthood and old age. It is an indispensable macronutrient for human health and longevity.
Trace element "Chromium" (Cr) is significantly important for maintaining normal physiological functions, helping prevent cardiovascular diseases, and aiding in blood sugar regulation. The human body cannot synthesize it independently and must obtain it through natural foods or supplements. For individuals with Type 2 diabetes, it can enhance insulin sensitivity. For those who are overweight, it is beneficial for managing cholesterol and blood sugar. Chromium is depleted faster in individuals under high stress, making it particularly necessary for these three groups.
Trace element "Nickel" (Ni) is an essential trace element for the human body. An adult body contains approximately 6-10 mg of nickel, primarily found in the brain and liver. Nickel is absorbed in the intestines, with unabsorbed nickel largely excreted through feces. Only 10-20% of nickel from food is absorbed by the body.
Trace element "Manganese" (Mn) is another type of trace element that protects the body. Jadeite also contains this element. Long-term wear of jadeite can promote blood circulation, accelerate metabolism, alleviate aging, and prevent certain age-related diseases.
Trace element "Magnesium" (Mg) is also a macronutrient that the body cannot lack. Like calcium, magnesium is essential for normal bone growth. Sufficient magnesium effectively regulates calcium and maintains normal neuromuscular function, with the two working synergistically. Magnesium can inhibit platelet aggregation, thus deficiency may increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Furthermore, magnesium deficiency can lead to chronic inflammation and is associated with the occurrence of many chronic diseases, particularly cardiovascular mortality. Some studies have shown that people who drink hard water, which has relatively high calcium and magnesium content, have a lower mortality rate from cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, maintaining normal blood magnesium levels reduces the risk of atherosclerosis.
Trace element "Iron" (Fe) assists enzymes in biochemical reactions and metabolism, making it one of the "essential trace elements" for the human body. An adult body typically contains 3-5 grams of iron, with 60-70% distributed in red blood cells. Other cells also require iron's help to function properly.
Medical research reveals that jadeite possesses potent therapeutic capabilities. Long-term wear of jadeite can not only prevent illnesses but also alleviate or even treat certain conditions.
Treating Chest Tightness: Some individuals with weaker constitutions may experience chest tightness. Wearing a jadeite pendant can help treat this common ailment. The jadeite pendant emits energy into the "Long Han" and "Shen Fu" acupoints on the chest, which can achieve a lasting effect through continuous massage.
Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory: In TCM, jadeite is believed to have benefits such as "clearing middle-burner heat, moistening the heart and lungs, nourishing hair, tonifying the five organs, calming the spirit, unblocking blood vessels, and brightening the senses."
Regularly wearing jadeite jewelry allows the trace elements within to be absorbed by the skin, aiding in the coordination and balance of physiological functions in the body's organs.
Nourishing the Skin: Jadeite jewelry, whether necklaces, earrings, or bracelets, can come into direct contact with the skin. The mineral elements in jadeite enter the body through this contact, nourishing the skin and making one appear more fair and radiant.
Cooling Down: The naturally cool property of jadeite provides a soothing and cooling sensation. During the Tang Dynasty, Yang Guifei would hold jade in her mouth during summer to relieve heat. Since then, summer has become a time of cool respite. Jade pillows, bracelets, beds, and pendants are used to combat the heat.
The above are evidence-based reasons for appreciating jadeite. Another, less tangible reason is its perceived ability to provide comfort and a sense of healing when one feels down or stressed, as if offering solace.
