On Sale / Large Teacup in Red Earthenware and Titanium Matte Glaze 1 - Bowls - Pottery Brown

Product Description

*This item is offered at a special sale price as part of our inventory clearance. We hope you will consider it during this opportunity. This teacup is crafted by combining red earthenware clay, which offers a rustic texture and warmth characteristic of pottery, with a titanium matte glaze that boasts a unique gradient from crimson to white. It was fired in a kerosene kiln at a kiln we are affiliated with, rather than our usual electric kiln at home. The firing process involved reduction firing, a method that creates an oxygen-deficient environment within the kiln, resulting in a deeply nuanced aesthetic that cannot be achieved with an electric kiln. Its rounded, plump form is endearingly cute, and when held with both hands, the gentle curve of the cup fits comfortably in your palm. Perfect for Japanese teas such as sencha or hojicha, but also suitable for coffee, cafe au lait, or soup. It can even be used as a vessel for matcha pudding or coffee jelly. Enjoy its versatility in various ways. My creations are made entirely by hand, from clay kneading to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, using a small electric kiln and electric potter's wheel set up in my home studio. Even with the same clay and glaze, each piece possesses a unique character, allowing you to appreciate the distinct scenery of each one. The item you will receive is the same as pictured. The base has been sanded to minimize scratching your table surfaces. Please note that the rim of this particular cup became slightly distorted during firing, resulting in an oval shape. For this reason, it is offered at a slightly more affordable price than usual. We appreciate your understanding. I continue to explore various glazes and clays, seeking optimal combinations to create a diverse range of pottery in various colors and forms. Each piece is unique, almost like a one-of-a-kind item, even if they appear similar. It brings me great joy when you find a piece that you truly love. May the warm atmosphere of pottery and the colors of the glaze bring a touch of color to your daily life. ------------------ *Size and Weight* Diameter: 9.7 cm Base Diameter: 4.2 cm Height: 6.1 cm Weight: 162 g ------------------ *Purchasing and Usage Notes* - Due to the porous nature of pottery, it may absorb water, and in some cases, colors may seep into crazing or moisture may appear on the surface. To address this, we apply a waterproof treatment to our tableware with a sealant before shipping, so there is no need for you to pre-treat it. This sealing process takes 2-3 days, which is why we set the shipping period to 5 days from the order date. If you prefer not to have the sealing treatment applied, please inform us at the time of purchase. - Cutlery shown in product images is not included. - We strive to photograph and edit product images to accurately represent the actual items. However, colors may appear differently depending on your monitor settings and lighting conditions. We appreciate your understanding in advance. - As this item is also sold on other platforms, in the event of overlapping purchases, priority will be given to the customer who completes the purchase process first. We kindly ask for your understanding. - While it can be used in a microwave (for warming) and dishwasher, the vibrations from microwaves and the high-pressure spray of hot water may accelerate deterioration. We kindly ask that you use these appliances sparingly. - Please refrain from using in an oven or over direct heat. - After use, to prevent staining and mold, please wash thoroughly and dry completely before storing in your cupboards or other storage.
