This marks the first instance globally of a card specialty store becoming a Shoyeido distributor. The renowned incense master, Shoyeido from Kyoto, Japan, was established in the year Hōei 2 (1705). With a legacy spanning over three hundred years and now in its twelfth generation, they continue to craft incense using traditional methods and natural ingredients. Many famous temples in Kyoto, such as Kinkaku-ji, Ginkaku-ji, Tō-ji, and Kiyomizu-dera, use Shoyeido incense. The incense souvenirs you purchase at these temples are also carefully made by Shoyeido. All incense products are handcrafted in their Kyoto workshops, following ancient techniques. Shoyeido's entire range of products, from incense burners and small incense rests to personal incense pouches, are made in Japan using only the finest materials. Despite Shoyeido's considerable renown both in Japan and internationally, they maintain only nine directly managed stores across Japan, deliberately avoiding expansion through franchises to ensure the highest quality of products and services. For their overseas locations, they rigorously vet each distributor's business philosophy and attitude, strictly limiting the number of official distributors to preserve their century-old reputation. While incense does not have an expiration date, to ensure our Taiwanese patrons can enjoy the freshest incense, I-Siang Cultural and Creative places small, bi-monthly orders directly from the Kyoto headquarters to Taipei. This guarantees the optimal quality of the incense.
