Roman glass refers to glass products that were buried in the earth for approximately 1200 to 1700 years (around the 5th century CE to the Roman Empire era), primarily in what is now Afghanistan and Iran. These items, once used in daily life, underwent a chemical reaction with the silica and aluminum oxide in the glass and the iron, copper, and magnesium in the soil. This process, known as "silvery weathering" of glass, occurs when various environmental conditions align, creating multiple overlapping films that result in a beautiful, iridescent sheen.
This particular piece of Roman glass shimmers with a beautiful Persian blue, reminiscent of an aurora, and a silvery-white radiance.
It features a K24 bail and a round charm made of K22 at the tip of the central core. The golden hue of the metal harmonizes wonderfully with the Roman glass.
The front and back of the pendant offer different yet equally captivating expressions.
Awakened from its long slumber since antiquity, this Roman glass seems to whisper stories as you gaze upon it.
Size: Roman glass: 15mm (height)
K22 charm: 3mm (diameter)

*Chain not included. This is a sale of the pendant top only.
If you wish to purchase a K18 chain, please contact us via message, and we will provide you with a link to the separate purchase page.
*The surface of the glass, which has been buried underground for over 500 years, exhibits a sparkling silvery weathered effect. This is a natural phenomenon caused by weathering, not artificial alteration. Additionally, there may be minor original chips on the edges. Please be aware of this before purchasing.
*Please handle with care, as scratching with fingernails or other objects may cause the weathered layer to peel off.
Each piece is unique, with no two ever being the same. Experience the beauty of Roman glass, a crystal of ancient romance, woven from human craftsmanship and the artistry of natural weathering.
