Silvered blue Roman glass, garnet, Herkimer diamond, and Nepalese bell earring

This is a single earring made of silvered blue Roman glass, generous garnets, Herkimer diamonds, and Nepalese bells. Roman glass is glass from the Roman Empire period (27 BC - 395 AD). This is a fragment of a vessel or other object that has been polished and drilled with holes. Silvering occurs when glass is buried underground for a long period of time, causing a chemical reaction between the components of the glass and the soil, resulting in a sparkling shine. Not all glass that has been buried for a long time will silver. This phenomenon only occurs when a number of conditions are met. Depending on the angle of the light, you can enjoy beautiful sparkles of purple, pink, and more! It looks like it was a handle for something. What was it used for? It's fun to imagine it! The lower part probably cracked in ancient times, and the border between the cracks has silvered, giving it an interesting appearance. Even after the silvery shine has worn off, you can still enjoy the color of the ancient glass itself, so we hope you will wear it with the feeling that it is something you are growing. It is full of cut garnets of three different sizes. This is a rhodolite garnet from Mozambique. We have combined it with a Herkimer diamond that has a rough shape like a rough stone. The blue beads are very valuable Roman glass beads that were made during the Roman era and were used as ornaments such as necklaces. This is also silvered. It is sandwiched between 18k gold plated Karen Silver. The wide-open bell-shaped thing is an antique tribal item from Nepal. Because it is handmade, the shape varies slightly, but that is also part of the charm. This part is super cool!! (It doesn't make any sound.) There is verdigris visible on about half of it.
