It is gently hand-woven with fine yarn, so unlike machine-woven products, it is fluffy and soft with air in it, and feels very light and comfortable against the skin. The base weave is a midnight blue that is close to black, with a vibrant yellow pattern typical of Italy. The weave pattern is changed for about one-third of the width of the fabric, which also changes the way the colors appear. The color, pattern and atmosphere change between the front and back, so this scarf can be worn in a variety of ways. Although it is narrow, it has the soft texture unique to cashmere, and is long enough to be wrapped twice around the neck or tied. The fringe is sewn at the edges, so the threads will not fray.
