These shoes are part of a series featuring Japan-made textiles.
These shoes incorporate "Kogin-zashi," a traditional craft from the Tsugaru region of Aomori Prefecture, known as one of Japan's three major sashiko styles.
Kogin-zashi originated from the need to improve durability and warmth in the harsh cold of the Tsugaru region, where stitching was applied with hemp thread.
We create these shoes by handcrafting works meticulously stitched one by one by Kogin-zashi artisans in Hirosaki, Aomori Prefecture.
The design features a derby style with red flat soles,
black cowhide leather on the sides,
Kogin-zashi on the top and heel,
grey cowhide hair-on leather on the front,
and embossed foil leather with a Japanese pattern on the straps.
As this is a custom-made product, please specify your desired size and sole type when ordering.
