Hand-woven silk stole [Awatsuki*03]
Material: 100% silk
Size: Approx. 30cm (43cm) x 170cm (excluding fringe 7cm)
This small stole is hand-woven using high-quality raw silk ordered from a silk wholesaler in Nishijin, Kyoto, and dyed in various colors from bleached yarn. It has a thin, sheer texture that feels soft and light on your body.
The wide warp yarns are mixed with silk loop threads to create an expressive look, and the weft yarns are woven with ultra-fine raw silk and highly twisted yarns, creating vertical wrinkles to create a narrow width that is easy to handle.
The total number of warp threads is 660, which is a fine density, and the single-twisted silk threads are kneaded (refined) for 3 minutes and dyed, giving it a smooth texture similar to organdy. Silk stoles have excellent moisture absorption, moisture release, and heat retention properties, so they can be used all year round.
