Design Philosophy:
Is the concept of Taijitu and Yin-Yang a support or refutation of dualism? It appears dualistic yet transcends it, transforming the limitations of dualistic thinking. The underlying logic is that the world is not composed of two separate extremes, but rather a flowing balance. The Taijitu symbol does not emphasize "black and white," but rather depicts flow and integration. On the surface, the Taijitu appears to present a "dual" opposition, with two contrasting parts: black (Yin) and white (Yang). Within the black, there is a white eye, and within the white, a black eye—symbolizing "Yin within Yang, and Yang within Yin." These seemingly opposing energies may be interdependent and mutually transformable.
This is akin to Hegel's "thesis - antithesis - synthesis": opposition is not a deadlock but can be transformed. Yin and Yang are not confined to two camps but are in constant convergence, attraction, and generate a middle ground (gray areas, blurred zones, ambiguity). Energy is dynamic and flows, rather than being static.
Life has its sweetness and bitterness, much like dark chocolate—it's hard to definitively label good or evil, Yin or Yang, because they are often intertwined and coexist. Events are often difficult to categorize as auspicious or inauspicious; life is like a train journey, savoring the taste—sweetness within bitterness, bitterness within sweetness, it is the interweaving of both that defines human experience—aligning with the Taiji logic of "Yin within Yang, Yang within Yin."
Dualism does not apply to the human realm; miracles and trials are often one and the same. Extraordinary hardship often comes with extraordinary compensation—events are frequently hard to judge as fortunate or unfortunate, but emotions will surely bring disaster! Anger, resentment, and sorrow attract misfortune; one must be cautious. This is the human world, not paradise. Fortunately, Heaven accompanies us through the entire journey.
