The Rubin's Vase is a renowned figure-ground reversal optical illusion, where the perception of figure and ground alters the image seen, allowing one to perceive either a vase or two profile faces from the same image. We've incorporated the profile faces of three stages of human evolution – Homo habilis, Pithecanthropus, and Homo sapiens – into the Rubin's Vase formula, each set against white, grey, and black marble patterns, designed into a series of sticky notes. The special paper structure allows a 2D notepad to unfold into a 3D vase. So, do you see faces or a vase? The cover and back of the notepad feature soft magnets, enabling them to hold together when the notepad is unfolded 360 degrees, securing the vase shape.
