📎 Cultured diamonds are genuine diamonds with the same composition and properties as natural diamonds.
Because cultured diamonds are not limited by rough stone procurement prices, their cuts can be more precise, their sparkle more dazzling, and they are more affordable compared to natural diamonds of the same grade, yet they still possess the brilliance of diamonds.
🔖 Laboratory-grown diamonds, aside from their identical appearance to natural diamonds, share the exact same physical properties and material composition; their growth environment is simply different. They are an excellent choice for value++.♡̶++
📎 From packaging to diamond-grade products, all are Hong Kong designed and come with an IGI certificate.
Let's dive into some cultured diamond knowledge again〰️
📌 How to choose the grade of a cultured diamond?
Step 1.) Confirm the Shape
Round Diamonds: The most beloved choice.
Confirm the shape (Shape) your gift recipient prefers. If you're unsure, or if they've never owned a diamond before, a round diamond is the best choice.
Step 2.) Set a Minimum Weight
Diamond Weight: Easily distinguishable by anyone! Compared to diamond color, clarity, and cut,
weight (Carat) is the most crucial factor when choosing a diamond! Most people cannot easily discern diamond color, clarity, or cut, but a diamond's size is something everyone can easily recognize. You should set a minimum diamond weight based on the recipient's preferences. If they prefer diamonds over 1 carat, even a 0.5-carat diamond of the highest grade might disappoint them.
Step 3.) Filter diamonds to fit your budget
After setting the weight, filter down to at least "F+VS2+Excellent."
Once you've completed Steps 1 and 2, filter the diamond grades in the following order until the diamonds meet your budget:
Lower the diamond clarity (Clarity) to VS2:
This is the minimum "eye-clean" grade, meaning the lowest level where inclusions are not visible to the naked eye.
Lower the diamond color (Color) to F:
D~F are classified as colorless diamonds (colorless). Diamonds in this grade range, once set, are indistinguishable to the untrained eye in everyday lighting conditions.
Lower the diamond cut grade (Cut):
Based on diamond market supply and demand, you can lower the cut grade to Excellent for round diamonds under 2 carats. For fancy-shaped diamonds over 2 carats, the requirement can be lowered to Very Good, due to the rarity of larger stones and special cuts.
Step 4.) What if the budget is slightly exceeded?
Reduce diamond weight by 5-10%.
If your budget is only slightly exceeded, try reducing the target diamond weight. Generally, a 5-10% difference in weight is not easily noticeable to the naked eye. You can verify the difference in diameter by looking at the "Measurements" section on the diamond certificate. For example, 6.65×6.68-4.11 indicates the diamond's minimum diameter is 6.65mm, maximum diameter is 6.68mm, and the height is 4.11mm.
In other words, the heavier the gold setting, the more expensive the price!
