Elegant U&C Sarreguemines porcelain, featuring a delicate blue-and-white floral and butterfly design. In the past, the French placed it in bathrooms as a soap drainer. This rare piece is composed of two parts: the upper plate with a drainage hole and the lower plate acting as a water collector. It dates back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The Sarreguemines ceramic factory was established in 1790 by Paul Utzschneider and gradually developed into a major producer in the French and European ceramics industry during the 19th century. The “Utzschneider & Cie” mark is typically associated with the late 19th and early 20th centuries, particularly during the factory’s most renowned period.
