【Revisiting Johnnie To】Postcards - Hong Kongers x Chow Chun Fai

Revisiting Johnnie To “How do Hongkongers react to oppression? These four characters from Johnnie To’s films confront their own misfortunes.” Featured in the Spring 2019 issue of "Hong Kongers," creator Chow Chun Fai presents his first comic rendition, freezing frames from four classic Johnnie To films: "Election," "Sparrow," "Throw Down," and "Running Out of Time." We see scenes like To’s "Big D" (played by Cheung Ka Fai) defiantly enduring a spoon in his mouth after offending a triad boss, Jenny (played by Kelly Lin) facing her predicament alone after a failed escape from Mr. Fu, Little Dream (played by Cherrie Ying) desperately trying to save a balloon trapped in a tree through a human pyramid, and Cheung Wah (played by Andy Lau) seeking revenge for his father despite a grim four-week prognosis.
