It accommodates standard paperback books, including those from Hayakawa Bunko, and those up to approximately 2cm thick. While single-layer leather book covers are common, this cover features a dual-layer construction: vegetable-tanned cowhide for the exterior and soft sheepskin for the interior. The top and bottom edges are further reinforced with the exterior leather, ensuring a durable build. As you use it, the leather will gradually soften and develop a rich patina, becoming a comfortable extension of your hand. Its color will deepen over time, taking on a warm, amber hue. Recommended for those who appreciate cherishing and using a single item for a long time. The vegetable-tanned cowhide is sourced from hides that are a byproduct of the meat industry. We use tanning agents that meet European environmental standards, free from nonylphenol, which is known to impact the global environment. The leather is processed in Japan (Himeji).
