Patterns are the Paiwan people's way of recording life. Each "Veick" has its own fixed name, through which tribal members use "Veick" patterns to tell their descendants about their migration routes, their ancestral families, the traditional territories of their families, and the social hierarchy and lifestyle that symbolize their tribe. Veick is a vocabulary for recording life, writing, drawing lines, embroidering, and carving. It seeks the genes of cultural derivation and application from the family's cultural matrix, blending the new with the old. "Vecik" is used in contemporary spaces; it also seeks elements of creativity and cultural design from the matrix, enhancing each other through materials and craftsmanship to extend the creative design spirit of family patterns applied to home-style products such as home decor, furniture, and everyday clothing. For many years, the structure of the land and environment has changed. To this day, there has been no development of re-edited patterns based on the current situation. Therefore, this Vecik project will construct patterns based on the rebuilding of family patterns, following the family's status within the group and historical events, to create different compiled patterns.
