VANDAL Black Metal Series
By 1992, as death metal became overly commercialized, it no longer met the expectations of some. They turned to black metal, inadvertently making it the new trend. They did everything they could, using extreme imagery and lyrics, to scare away posers and keep them from encroaching on black metal.
Every time they saw someone still "liking" them and wanting to be their "friend," they felt compelled to become even more extreme, accelerating their efforts to distance themselves and shake off followers, ultimately evolving into a pure dissemination of madness.
This series, inspired by the unappealing and highly controversial theme of black metal, is clearly a matter of personal preference.
Initially, I encountered this culture through certain bizarre, anti-social incidents (or rumors). What began as a simple fascination with these extreme events evolved into spending time deeply understanding the context, development, and evolution of black metal culture. I discovered numerous parallels with VANDAL's philosophy, which only deepened my obsession.
I have no intention of introducing it in an overly romanticized or deliberately appealing way to others.
My only hope is that the few who might be drawn to this dark aesthetic do not miss out.
