it is said to be a spirit beast that enjoys alcohol.
Actors playing the "Orangutan" wear fiery red fur,
hence this special red color was named "Orangutan."

**|| Three Generations of Grass Aroma, Three Generations of Weaving ||**
"Si Cyuan" is a natural grass hand-weaving studio in Dajia, Taichung. In 1947, grandfather Guo Xi-quan founded the business with products woven from Taiwan's Mugwort. After the third generation joined, they adopted his name for the studio, continuing his passion for weaving.
At Si Cyuan, you'll find the third generation who loves weaving, her mother, and indispensable help from a group of grandmothers and aunts who deeply love weaving. Together, they pass down traditional culture and develop innovative designs.
The third generation of Si Cyuan weaves the rich culture of their hometown, continuing authentic craftsmanship. The simple, natural texture is a gift from nature and an expression of their connection to home. With the intention of creating items for their own family, they use traditional techniques to produce everyday accessories like straw hats, bags, and woven slippers for home living.

And, a unique natural grass aroma~
Native to central Taiwan, Taiwan Mugwort possesses a captivating natural aroma.
Historically, Mugwort was primarily used for weaving sleeping mats, hence its nickname "rush grass." It is highly absorbent, breathable, and smooth against the skin, offering a cool sensation upon touch. With continued use, it develops a beautiful sheen over time, embodying a rich sense of everyday living.
Taiwan boasts nearly three hundred years of Mugwort weaving culture. Each item is meticulously hand-woven by local grandmothers and aunts, imbued with the spirit of Taiwan.
**|| Mugwort Weaving Process ||**
Growth | 3-4 months of growth
Drying | After harvesting, sun-dried for approximately 2-4 months until completely dry
Sorting | Grass sorted by length, with some tips removed
Selection | Grass selected for uniform thickness before weaving
Trimming | Leaves not fully grown at the grass head are removed
Beating | Structure of the grass is broken down to make it soft and pliable for weaving
For finer items, two additional steps are involved: "Splitting" (dividing the triangular Mugwort into two to three finer strands) and "Kneading" (rubbing to remove the white fibers within the grass).
**|| A Little Story About Taiwan Mugwort ||**
Grandmothers and mothers used to tell stories about how people would cultivate grass.
They loved the dark, lustrous color of Mugwort.
This color typically developed over time with use.
However, some people wanted to accelerate this transformation into a dark, lustrous hue,
so they would specifically wipe it with tea water to deepen the color.
