→ Product Introduction This piece employs a unique technique, adding speckled textures to the traditionally pure and lustrous Ru porcelain, imbuing the vessel with a richer, more ancient aesthetic. Renowned as the foremost of the five great kilns of the Song Dynasty, Ru ware is celebrated for its lustrous glaze and its characteristic appearance of solidified cream. Its simple elegance and refined charm made it an unparalleled ceramic masterpiece of the Song era. Xiangyi Kiln's Ru porcelain features a balanced iron content and precisely controlled reduction firing. The clay body presents a fragrant gray hue, while the glaze shifts between sky blue and powder blue under different lighting. The iron-rimmed edge offers a sense of fusion between the earth and the glaze. The delicate, fish-scale-like crackles on the surface gradually deepen in texture as they come into contact with tea, becoming even more lustrous. A Gaiwan is a time-honored vessel for brewing tea. Many tea connoisseurs favor Gaiwans for brewing, as their wide opening allows for a clear view of the tea leaves unfurling. It also facilitates a gentle decrease in temperature within the vessel, which is particularly beneficial when brewing teas with delicate aromas that are sensitive to high temperatures. The rim of this Gaiwan is specially flared, offering protection against burns while adding a sleek finish to the vessel.
