| Production Group: Prokriti | Established in 1970 in Bangladesh, Prokriti is the fair trade arm of MCC (Mennonite Central Committee), an international NGO supported by Christian organizations in the US and Canada. We provide product development and marketing support for artisan groups, categorized by product type. Our mission is to foster the development and marketing of handmade goods that utilize natural resources and traditional craftsmanship. Prokriti, meaning "nature" in Bengali, is dedicated to producing eco-friendly handcrafted items by leveraging natural resources. They manage product design, development, marketing, and export services. Currently, Prokriti supports eight producer associations and approximately 30 other partner organizations. Products developed by affiliated designers and manufactured by producer and partner groups are exported not only to Japan but globally.
