Fine white clay that makes the glaze colors truly shine. This is a charmingly rounded mug, coated in a lustrous white glaze and then adorned with various autumn-inspired hues. During firing, the glazes melt and blend, creating a beautiful, flowing pattern. Its plump, rounded shape is utterly endearing, and when cradled in your hands, its curves nestle comfortably against your palms. Perfect for coffee, café au lait, milk tea, or a roasted green tea latte. It's also wonderful for soups like potage or minestrone. All pieces are handcrafted, from the kneading of the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, using a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel in my home studio. While mass production isn't possible, each piece possesses its own unique character, allowing you to appreciate its individual charm. The item you receive will be the exact one shown in the product images. The base of the mug will be smoothed with sandpaper before shipping. I explore various combinations of glazes and clays, constantly seeking new possibilities to create ceramics in a wide range of colors and forms. To address this, all our tableware undergoes a waterproofing treatment with a food-safe sealant before shipping, eliminating the need for initial soaking (me-boshi). This treatment requires 2-3 days, hence our shipping timeframe of 5 days from order placement. If you prefer not to have the waterproofing treatment applied, please notify us at the time of purchase. - Cutlery shown in product images is not included. - Product images are edited and photographed to be as true to the actual item as possible.
