Pottery handmade hand-painted one-of-a-kind item Width 21.5cm Height 16.5cm Height 2.5cm This pottery was inspired by the cranes depicted on folding screens by the Rinpa school, including Korin Ogata, Motoichi Suzuki, and Hoichi Sakai. Paintings and pottery paintings are quite different in terms of size, pigments, detailed depictions, and textures, but I think these differences led to interesting results. Fuji wasn't there though. The patterns on the pottery I made look somewhat like woodblock prints, which I like. This pottery is made from a blend of coarse red clay, so the base material has a slightly bumpy feel, giving it an interesting texture. I also dyed the crane's wings pink to create the image of sunlight shining on them. *Ceramic (earthenware) differs from porcelain in that it has a soft, warm porcelain surface, and it has an imperfect beauty unique to earthenware, a charm that does not require perfection. It also means that the person who uses it finishes it. Since pottery is made of earthenware, when you hold the actual item in your hands, it has a more rustic impression compared to the image. However, once you get used to it at first, you'll start to appreciate the quality and simplicity of the real thing.
