These SDGs jewelry pieces feature kintsugi mending, upcycling ceramics from the Shounzan kiln in Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture.
Discarded pottery, cracked or chipped and no longer in use, is given new life through kintsugi to be transformed into accessories.
The concept behind these pieces is to create modern accessories that connect with the present and future, allowing wearers to feel closer to nature and Japan's enduring traditions, thereby fostering new possibilities.
Elegant pottery fragments in a striking deep blue are adorned with three freshwater pearls.
The sides of the pottery fragments are finished with kintsugi, allowing the gold to shimmer even from the side, adding a touch of refined elegance.
These pieces are perfect as a stylish accent for both casual and elegant outfits.
Length: Pottery fragment: 15 x 18mm. Total length: 28mm.
Clasp: Screw-back earrings (clasp cannot be changed).
Weight: Despite being pottery, they are lightweight and comfortable to wear.
As each piece is a one-of-a-kind creation, they make for excellent gifts. They are also a thoughtful choice for presenting to someone special.
*As these are finished, one-of-a-kind items, we are unable to make changes to the clasps or offer re-production.
*We will send the item pictured. However, if it has already been sold on another platform, it may be made to order. In such cases, please note that there may be individual differences in color, pattern, and size of the pottery fragments and natural stones compared to the pictured item.
* "Kintsugi" is a unique Japanese traditional repair technique that mends broken or chipped pottery using lacquer and gold powder. This artwork uses a modern, simplified kintsugi technique. Unlike traditional kintsugi using sap from the lacquer tree, this method uses adhesive for bonding. The kintsugi parts are created using lacquer (a paint made by a manufacturer, not raw lacquer) and gold powder (brass powder, pearl powder), with UV resin also used for reinforcement.
