In this aromatic jungle, you can freely lose your way, yet never your sense of direction."** In recent years, Taiwan has developed a more mature appreciation for sensory experiences, with the flavor wheels of coffee, tea, and even ingredients increasingly incorporating local insights. This inspired us to ponder: "Could natural essential oils also develop their own flavor wheel using Taiwanese vernacular?" In 2019, we designed the first version of our aroma flavor wheel for the "Aroma Project of a Tree" exhibition. Through his keen sense of smell, Poky has logically organized his years of olfactory experience into 8 categories: Root, Flower, Seed, Herb, Leaf, Resin, Wood, and Fruit. By assigning descriptive text to each scent, these relatable aroma descriptions have resonated deeply with many. Poky has since further refined these scents, evolving into a new version.
