**Humphead Wrasse**
The Humphead Wrasse is a large wrasse found in the Pacific Ocean, with adults reaching up to 200 cm in length. Its high, bulbous forehead resembles the hat worn by Napoleon, earning it the nickname "Napoleonfish." In Taiwan, it is also known as Su-mei fish or Dragon King bream. As one of the apex predators in tropical coral reef food chains, the Humphead Wrasse plays a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance.
Highly prized, the Humphead Wrasse is a delicacy on the dining tables of China, Hong Kong, and some Southeast Asian countries. With a lifespan of up to 50 years and slow growth rates, overfishing has led to the species being unable to grow and reproduce sufficiently, placing it on the brink of extinction.
**IUCN Status: Endangered (EN)**
