Being a foodie myself, I always want to paint something relating to my favourites! This series has a total of six designs, each featuring a typical Hong Kong street food and a cute animal. I believe they will look good in your journals!
This Hong Kong snack is called French Toast. Served with honey syrup and butter, the toast is smooth and sweet, with a wonderful aftertaste of peanut butter. What a satisfying thing to eat and even Mr Ginger can’t resist it!
The other snack is called tofu pudding. Made of soy beans (some also with soy milk), the silky tender dessert is served with a pile of red sugar and ginger syrup. Holding the bowl is just hand-warming on a winter day!
Next comes the grid cake. Famous for its sweet and nutty taste, the snack has a rich texture comprising condensed milk, sugar, butter and peanut butter and smells amazingly delicious when served hot. What a temptation in a chilly day!
The last one is called Egg Waffle, also known as Eggettes in other parts of the world. The sweet and mouthwatering smell of egg batter is one of the reasons for its wide popularity, alongside its unique, mixed textures of being crispy and soft. This local street dish is simple to make and enjoy, simply by tossing the eggettes out, so you can easily finish one when shopping around. Nowadays it has become a well known dessert, with a range of different flavours available at stalls and shops. Some UK shops even serve it with ice-cream! But to me, the original flavour is always the best! (Okay, matcha is not bad! I love it too!)
Size: 4cm x 4cm (perfect for most sizes of journals)
