Rounded Engraved Yunomi: Agapanthus

Crafted from coarse red earthenware clay, it offers a warmth that is characteristic of pottery. After shaping it into a pleasingly round yunomi form, an engraved pattern inspired by Agapanthus flowers was added. The entire piece is fired with a matte glaze, lending it a simple texture, and the engraved lines are carefully colored with enamel. Its charming, rounded silhouette fits comfortably in the hands, the gentle curves of the cup nestling perfectly into your palms. The interior boasts a soft, pale hue, allowing you to fully appreciate the clear colors of beverages like sencha green tea or black tea. It's also wonderfully suited for drinks such as cafe au lait or hojicha lattes. Beyond beverages, it can serve as a slightly larger cup for holding ice cream with fresh fruit, or for preparing puddings. We invite you to enjoy it with a variety of drinks and dishes. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted in my home studio, equipped with a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel. From kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, every step is performed by hand. While mass production is not possible, each item possesses its own unique character, offering a distinct charm that comes from being handmade. The item you receive will be the exact piece shown in the product images. To ensure your table surfaces are protected, the base of the cup has been carefully smoothed with sandpaper. I continually explore new combinations of glazes and clays, creating a diverse range of pottery in various colors and forms. To address this, we apply a water-blocking treatment to all our tableware using a food-safe sealant before shipping, so there is no need for you to perform a preliminary soaking (mezome). This water-blocking process requires 2-3 days, which is why we allow a 5-day period between order and shipment. If you prefer not to have this treatment applied, please inform us at the time of purchase. - The colors of the glaze can appear different depending on the lighting. They may look whiter under natural morning light or white LED lighting, and exhibit more reddish or yellowish tones under evening light or warm-toned lamps. - Cutlery shown in the product images is not included. - We strive to photograph and edit product images to accurately represent the actual items. However, please be aware that colors may appear differently depending on your monitor settings and ambient lighting conditions. - As these items are also sold on other platforms, in the rare event of overlapping purchases, the item will be allocated to the customer who completes the purchase process first.
