Crafted from coarse red clay, it offers a comforting, earthy warmth characteristic of pottery.
After being formed into a charming, rounded shape, it's adorned with an engraved pattern reminiscent of agapanthus blooms.
The entire piece is fired with a simple, matte glaze, and the engraved lines are then hand-painted with overglaze enamel for a refined finish.
Its pleasingly rounded, endearing form fits comfortably in your hands, the cup's curves nestling naturally in your palms.
The interior boasts a pale hue, allowing the subtle colors of clear beverages like sencha green tea or black tea to be fully appreciated.
It's also perfect for lattes, hojicha lattes, and other creamy drinks.
Consider using it as a slightly larger cup for serving ice cream with cut fruit, or even for individual puddings.
We hope you enjoy it with a variety of beverages and dishes.
All stages of creation—from kneading the clay to forming, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing—are meticulously done by hand in my home studio, equipped with a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel.
While mass production isn't possible, each piece possesses its own unique character, offering a charm that only handmade items can provide.
The item you receive will be identical to the one shown in the product images.
To ensure your table surfaces are protected, the base is carefully sanded to be smooth.
Please note that due to the thicker construction required for the engraved pattern, this yunomi is slightly heavier than others.
We hope you appreciate the satisfying weight that speaks to its ceramic nature.
I continuously explore new combinations of glazes and clays, creating a diverse range of ceramics in various colors and forms.
Each piece is unique, a one-of-a-kind creation that cannot be replicated identically.
It brings me great joy to think you might find a cherished favorite among them.
May the cozy atmosphere woven by clay and glaze become a delightful part of your daily life.

*Important Notes for Purchase and Use*
- Due to the porous nature of pottery, it may absorb liquids, potentially leading to discoloration in the crazing or slight seepage of moisture.
To address this, all our ceramic ware undergoes a waterproofing treatment with a food-safe sealant before shipping, eliminating the need for initial soaking (mezome).
This treatment requires 2-3 days, which is why our shipping window is set at 5 days from order placement. If you prefer not to have the waterproofing treatment applied, please inform us at the time of purchase.
- The color of the glaze may appear whiter under natural morning light or white LED lighting, and exhibit more reddish or yellowish tones under evening light or warm-toned lamps.
- Cutlery shown in product images is not included.
- While we strive to capture product images as accurately as possible through photography and editing, colors may appear differently depending on your monitor settings and ambient lighting conditions. We appreciate your understanding.
- As this item is also sold on other platforms, in the event of overlapping purchases, priority will be given to the customer who completes the purchase process first. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
- While the yunomi can be used in a microwave (for gentle warming) and dishwasher, the vibrations from microwaves and the high-pressure spray in dishwashers may accelerate wear over time. We kindly ask that you use these appliances sparingly.
- Please refrain from using the yunomi in an oven or over an open flame.
- After use, to prevent stains and mold, please wash thoroughly, ensure it is completely dry, and then store it in your cupboard or designated storage area.
