We've coordinated with the factory for a smooth production and shipping, with an estimated dispatch around mid-October. This will be the only production run for this winter, and once sold out, it will not be restocked. First, a small piece of information: the "so-called mohair" sweaters sold for two to three hundred yuan in the market are mostly made with domestic yarn. Domestic mohair yarn typically uses acrylic fibers to mimic the fuzzy effect of mohair, or at best, a blend with some wool. While photos may not show the difference, the actual texture is often rough, not soft against the skin, and most worryingly, it can shrink to a XXXS size after washing. That type of yarn is not "true mohair." After encountering numerous unsatisfactory mohair yarns, Vitatha is unwilling to compete fiercely in the "fast-fashion, disposable market." We simply want to create a high-quality sweater for you to wear, and for ourselves to wear. Good mohair should be: lightweight and warm, highly elastic, soft to the touch, exceptionally gentle, and skin-friendly. It should not easily lose its shape, whether machine-washed gently or hand-washed. To create this one sweater, our team truly poured all our effort into it (every word carries tears). Please allow us to share the story. 【About the Yarn】 Through a fortunate series of events, we've established a collaboration with a supplier for a major brand this year. Yes, we are using yarn from the same manufacturer as a certain brand (proudly). The yarn is imported from Italy (official branded yarns have minimum order quantities, but for all our VIPs at Vitatha, we decided to take the risk). From placing the order to yarn dyeing (our exclusive olive green), pre-production wash testing of samples, pattern adjustments, and pre-production samples, this entire process extended beyond our initial schedule (we've been eagerly anticipating it). After a series of tests, we finally achieved what we desired: lightness, fluffiness, warmth, and softness. (I'm wearing a sample as I write this for you!) 【About Washing】 This sweater has a very high wool content. Although the finished garment has undergone shrinkage testing, we recommend paying close attention during washing. Please wash only in cold water using a professional wool or cashmere detergent (absolutely do not use regular laundry detergent). If machine washing, be sure to use a laundry bag and select the gentle cycle. After washing, gently shake off any loose fibers, stretch the garment, and then lay it flat to dry. Do not hang to dry (the weight of the water can cause the garment to sag and deform). 【About Shedding】 Although we've consulted with craftspeople to extensively study the issue of shedding and have significantly improved it, some shedding is unavoidable due to the nature of long-pile mohair yarn. Similar to pilling on pure wool or cashmere items, mohair sheds surface fibers. Washing will also greatly improve this. The sweater will become softer and more skin-friendly with each wash.
