♦ Everything Grows, Live Each Day Fully
Like a rabbit crouching before it leaps, the three years of 2023 have vanished in a flash. Amidst the rush to catch up, have you noticed the sudden changes, the new possibilities fermenting? Some have stepped out of their comfort zones to take on new roles; others have explored new collaborations, opening their dream shops. Perhaps it's embarking on a new relationship, a new career, taking on responsibility; or seeing your hometown's forests from a different perspective; or beginning to heal the past, making peace with yourself, and realizing it's okay not to be the ideal adult.
In this issue of "Small Things," we invite dream implementers from various fields: Chua Shu-chen, who suffered from myofascial pain syndrome and transformed from a model to a powerful actress and producer; Lin Chia-min, a forest knowledge expert who trained Taiwan's first forest therapists; K6 Liu Chia-kai, the guitarist of Sodagreen, who has released his first concept album, "Great! My Useless Life"; Chow Chuan, producer of "Hello, I'm the Undertaker," who, despite the loss of a close friend, has rallied to produce more quality Taiwanese dramas; Rick & Gemma of Shan-ao, who, with their backgrounds in furniture design and art curation, have meticulously restored a miner's dormitory in SanDiaoLing.
Once, everyone had a dream job and life in their hearts. But in the process of chasing dreams, when faced with obstacles, how should one choose? Discard outdated plans and ambitions, or a life that others envy? Or, like "Chou Chu Exterminating the Three Evils," wield a knife against yourself, and bravely bid farewell to the past when a sign appears. We hope that through these stories, we can offer some encouragement and aspirations to young people who feel a little lost about the future. To see that there is more than just A or B, to not be bound by original intentions, to shift your mindset, walk your own path, restart your life, and embrace a New Day.
