This is a necklace strung with old Tibetan turquoise, Mizoram carnelian, ancient agate, antique caramel white hearts, and turquoise blue chevron beads, among other treasures. The old Tibetan turquoise dates back approximately 100 to 200 years, possibly even older. It was acquired directly from someone who sourced it in Tibet. Turquoise is often referred to as the "Fallen Skystone" and has been revered as a protective amulet and sacred stone across various cultures since ancient times. In Tibet, it has even been used medicinally, making it one of the stones passed down and worn for millennia. This is natural turquoise, without any coatings, featuring a beautiful mint green hue and a smooth shape. (Turquoise dimensions: 0.9cm W x 0.9cm H x 0.5cm D) The orange beads are Mizoram carnelian, believed to be from around the 18th century, originating from the Mizoram state in northeastern India. Their color variations lend them a rich, expressive character, bearing the marks of age. We've incorporated ancient agate beads with white stripes. These were unearthed in regions like Pakistan and India, around the Indus River Valley, dating back approximately 2000 years. Though small, they reveal beautiful stripe patterns within their delicate forms. The red beads are known as white hearts, named for their white cores. Antique white hearts from the 19th and 20th centuries are becoming exceptionally rare. (White heart bead dimensions: 0.35cm) The turquoise blue beads are antique Venetian chevron beads. These feature a distinctive four-layer structure. The name "chevron" signifies a "mountain range" pattern, and in Italian, they are known as "rosetta." Revered as the "aristocracy of beads," they hold significant value and meaning. Turquoise blue chevron beads, in particular, are scarce and difficult to obtain. Nestled between the old Tibetan turquoise, Mizoram carnelian, and ancient agate are plump,壺-shaped silver beads made from highly rare old Chin silver. These are heirlooms from around the 18th to 19th centuries, originating from Burma. Crafted by the Chin ethnic group for personal adornment, they display unique wear and endearing imperfections. Their substantial feel and presence are unparalleled by modern silver, despite the existence of stylish contemporary pieces. These antique beads have seen a significant price increase in recent years. The golden beads and the anchor-like charm beside the ancient agate are crafted from old Orissa brass, antique and scarce beads from the Orissa state of India. The charm near the clasp is also old brass from India. The small Karen silver beads on the clasp are individually stamped – a painstaking, handmade process that is truly awe-inspiring. ◇ Karen Silver ◇ This silver is made by the mountain-dwelling ethnic group of Thailand and Burma. Each piece is handcrafted, and the silver is said to be of very high purity. The clasp is made of turquoise.
