This piece of work uses hand-thrown techniques and carved solid clay blocks to make its shaped handle; this model also has a clever design to prevent the lid from falling off. The entire teapot is made of clay and fired into a non-heterogeneous material. Qiu Zhenglin carefully observes the texture, outline and shape of each pot, and designs the handle that perfectly matches the pot body. Each handle is hand-sculpted from solid clay, and is repeatedly gripped and adjusted to find the most ergonomic and comfortable design, so that each work achieves a perfect balance between beauty and practicality.
